DGAA Award (September 2016)
Congratulations to the Austin Fire Department’s (AFD) Public Information Office, who were recently notified of their selection by the Center for Digital Government of a Digital Government Achievement Award (DGAA). AFD’s recognition comes in the “Driving Digital Government/Local government” category for the www.JoinAFD.com Recruiting website. The DGAA honor city, county, and state governments for their work to engage citizens online while also providing them with innovative and citizen-centric websites and applications. The Center for Digital Government, which receives hundreds of award nominations each year, is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies, and best practices in state and local government.
Seven Seals Award (November 2015)
The Austin Fire Department’s Recruiting section and Public Information Office were honored by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR, a Department of Defense office) with the Seven Seals Award for their innovative work on reaching veterans during the most recent recruiting cycle! The Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR and is presented at the discretion of the State Chair or by ESGR senior leadership. The Seven Seals Award is in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission.
